Once called Trappers Landing, Sorrento, British Columbia, is a lovely vacation community was renamed by early settler James Kinghorn, because Copper Island in Shuswap Lake reminded him of the Isle of Capri, off Sorrento in Italy. Lovers of sun and water call it paradise and fans of folk music in overdrive flock to the Bluegrass Festival in August.
